We visited Union Market during our last stay in Washington, D.C. It was a cool, less crowded alternative to Eastern Market in the heat of August. Union Market continues its rich history of food and flavors in an open market ideal. You can read about the rich history of the market here.
Now, it's been completely modernized. The market not only includes culinary adventures but also artisan retailers featuring textiles and unique home decorating ideas.
The restaurants are included within the open market space.
It's a year-round shopping and dining opportunity.
There is an outdoor farmers market component that I assume is seasonal. The Union Market is worth a stop if you are in the D.C. area.
It is really a lovely mix of culture, dining, and art in a revitalized part of the city.
